*SCHOOL HOURS FOR STUDENTS

The Jenkins White school day begins at 8:00 AM for students and ends at 3:15 PM every day EXCEPT WEDNESDAY.  On Wednesdays, students have early dismissal at 1:30 PM so that the staff can begin professional learning at 1:45 PM.

PAWS stands for Prompt, Attentive, Well-Behaved, Studious

JWECS Bruins are all about the PAWS:  Prompt, Attentive, Well-behaved, Studious and we will work hard to earn each "paw".  Earn  PAWS to attend EBIS Reward Activities.  Click here to see our PAWS rubric.

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MRS. NORRIS

Parents and Students:
We are committed to excellence at Jenkins-White Elementary Charter School. Our vision is to have a strong collaborative community of students, families and teachers. This has been a very busy and productive year. Parent involvement has increased.  Teachers and administrators are involved in professional learning. Students are receiving standards-based instruction in all of their classes. With parents, students and teachers working together, we will reach our goal of making AYP this year.

Greetings from Our Assistant Principal

Happy 2010!

I am now really noticing the academic progress our students are making, thanks to student-teacher, and parent efforts.  We had a great first semester.  My favorite activities were:  Emergency Response Day, Christmas Around the World, Neighborhood Bus Tour, Spelling Bee, America's Choice Quality Review, Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance Ice Cream and Movie and Design Team Meetings.  I really enjoy eating my lunch in the cafeteria listening to Mrs. Norris read the Principal's Book of the Month and watching students making good choices to earn PAWS rewards.

What were your favorite times at school?  Please let me know.

Now I am looking forward to:  Valentine's Cookie Decorating and Movie for students earning 5 PAWS, Black History Assembly and Luncheon, Real Talk and Essence of Beauty, Math and Literacy Night, CRCT and making AYP!

Students and parents, fasten your seatbelts and hold on tight as our teachers become even more serious, preparing students to meet Georgia Performance Standards.  Students need to come to school every day, be on time, and stay all day.

Jenkins-White Elementary Charter School is the very best place to be!

Daily Attendance is Important!!!

Jenkins-White has so much to offer its students EVERY DAY.  It is very important to us and to you to be here each time we have school.  In order for our school to make "Adequate Yearly Progress" , attendance is especially significant and is monitored by DFACS and Richmond County Board of Education.  To learn more, click here to see the county's attendance policy.
