Grade 5
1. Produces artworks/graphic designs to create a message.
2. Plans, organizes, and creates artworks using: form, color expressing emotion, linear perspective, proportion. And contrast.
3. Produces artworks using a variety of subject matter and arts processes.
4. Demonstrates proper care/use of materials.
5. Researches historical events and uses these as sources of ideas for artworks.
6. Recognizes color relationships.
7. Defines characteristics of form as open or closed.
8. Examines artist’s use of linear perspective to achieve depth.
9. Analyzes proportion in artworks.
10. Illustrates use of elements of art and principles of design to create contrast in artwork.
11. Identifies media and techniques used to produce artworks
12. Recognizes an artist’s use of subject matter to communicate a message.
13. Critiques artwork in sequence (analysis, interpretation, and judgment)
14. Develops, judges, and communicates personal decisions about artworks.
15. Interprets artworks based on historical facts, theories and other information complied by historians
16. Supports a personal position on art
17. Describes the similarities/differences between two works of the same style by different artist.
18. Explains how technological advances change the way an artist’s works.
